Join us for our monthly welcome drinks for Members, this is an opportunity for us to come together and get to know one-another. This month, we have an exclusive opportunity to meet the talented artists behind the work of our newest exhibition, ICONS by Kate Winskill and Rory Thomas, curated by DegreeArt.

About the Artists:

Kate Winskill

Brought up in London in the 70s, Kate was influenced by the edgy atmosphere of London at the time. She harvested images of the city, specifically Battersea Power Station, and music icons who appeared at the Rainbow Finsbury Park and the Brixton Sundown during this time and has developed a unique style depicting far more than the original imagery.

Rory Thomas

Focusing on making art which incorporates his song lyrics and poetry, Rory describes his style as urban expressionism. His original artworks use ink, acrylic, digital collage & photography and many feature song titles and fragments of poems as part of their composition. There is a strong visual identity to the work, which often draws on images of the mid 20th century, and many of which tell emotional stories.
